Renew Geelong: Three New Businesses In Belcher Arcade

November 1, 2018 by Jade Craven

3 shopfronts have been activated in the Belcher Arcade area as part of the Renew Geelong Initiative. The surrounding area looks a bit dreary but it is exciting to watch it change.

Legio-Centurion Films

This is an Australian-based film production business that has been creating short films and at least one short documentary. It is primarily run by Mark P Sinozic. You can learn more on their Patreon page.

I was unable to get decent photos of here a person was working inside. I will be seeking out better photos as the area unfolds.

The Indirect Object

The indirect Object is an award-winning experimental arts group creating original, immersive experiences, activations, installations, and community engagement workshops. They were involved with one of the artworks as part of White Night.

I visited the area a number of times in October to watch the area develop.

Hearth Storytelling

I am in love with this project by Niki na Meadhra. She has worked so hard to develop this space and I have watched this project grow via Instagram. I visited here on White Night and Niki was so passionate and enthusiastic talking about her work. It was addictive.

It is definitely worth checking out the area while she creates it. I’m more of a written/visual storyteller but am excited to see what happens.
