Central Geelong Dance Hall Damaged In Fire

January 18, 2019 by Jade Craven

We go past this dance hall quite frequently. It is on the corner of Latrobe Terrace and Gordon Avenue, near the train station. Glenn was recently on his way to work when we got stuck in a traffic jam a couple of stops back from this intersection. The cab ended up going a different way and we didn’t think anything of it.

(We have a policy of not photographing people in emergencies, and typically seeing emergency vehicles means there was a car accident.)

I later learned that it was actually the hall that was on hire. I decided to go there to get photos to 1) document the damage and 2) get photos of other parts of the building just in case it gets damaged in the future.
