A reporter from Channel 7 was in town recently to report on the trouble in Central Geelong. A fight had been recorded on video in the previous week and it seemed that the crew was after similar vision to what A Current Affair captured.
We were already going to be in town for the Geelong Illustrators Magazine event, so decided to get into town earlier and attend the launch of the new multimedia studio. Geelong MP Christine Couzens was there to officially cut the ribbon.
In its current form, this studio is set up mostly for podcasters. We also got to see the set of The PopCulturists podcast.
Glenn and I are huge movie fans. We especially love action films. It was pretty exciting to learn that a car chase sequence for the Whistleblower was being filmed in the CBD.
The synopsis is as follows:
Mark Ma is a Chinese expat working in Australia for a local company. A fatal accident leads Mark to discover that the new technology developed by the company he works for may have tremendous safety concerns. In search of the truth, Mark investigates into the company’s conspiracies behind closed doors.
This shoot is the largest Australian-Chinese official co-production in Victoria’s history. It also stars Steve Bastoni, who we recognize from both movies and TV shows. More scenes will be shot later this month.
Last night, we went to the launch of the Geelong Illustrators Magazine. It was the first official event in the concept space that was open to the public. It was so awesome to see it finally set up. I really got into some of the artworks and will be returning regularly.
