The Woolstores Precinct

December 10, 2019 by

The Woolstores Precinct is a project by the David Hamilton Group, the team behind the Pivot City Innovation District. It is made made up of 2 connected sites at 1 Rutland Street and 400 Pakington Street.

It’s located at the river end of Pakington Street. This area is becoming quite the destination since the arrival of Boom Gallery. More galleries, studios and cafes have been popping up.

This building was originally constructed in the 1920’s.

I first visited in January 2019 when it was still tenanted to Encompass Community Services. I returned in August to find that the building was vacant and had been fenced off. Constructed had started by the time I revisited in January, 2020.

It was well underway in May 2020.

Woolstores Precinct: 1 Rutland Street Development

I first visited the area in January, 2019, when the building was very much being redeveloped. The above post collects the photos from that trip and the subsequent visit after the development had been completed.
